Privacy Policy
Last updated: 27 October 2026
This policy explains what information DnD Calculator (dndcalculator.com) collects, why, and the choices you have. We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run a free calculator website.
Who is responsible for your data
The data controller is GEMWEB, Lamia, Greece. You can contact us about privacy at [email protected].
What we collect
Calculator inputs
The calculators run in your browser. The numbers you enter are not sent to us, except when you choose to create a share link (see below).
Preferences stored on your device
We save a few settings in your browser's local storage so the site remembers them: your preferred rules edition (2014 or 2024) and, for some tools, your last inputs or your party's XP tracker. This data stays on your device, is never sent to us, and you can clear it at any time from your browser settings.
Share links
When you click Share result, we store the calculator inputs needed to rebuild that result, together with a one-way hashed version of your IP address used only to limit abuse (we do not store your IP address itself). Anyone with the link can see those inputs, so do not put personal information in free-text fields such as character names if you plan to share.
Contact form
If you write to us, we store your name, email address, subject and message so we can reply, plus a hashed IP address to prevent spam. We keep messages for up to 24 months and then delete them.
Server logs
Like all websites, our hosting provider records standard technical logs (IP address, browser type, page requested, time) for security and troubleshooting. These logs are kept for a short period and are not used to identify you.
Cookies and advertising
This site is free because it shows advertising through Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites, to limit how often you see an ad, and to measure ad performance.
- Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked for consent through a consent message before any advertising or analytics cookies are used. You can change your choice at any time using the privacy settings link shown by that message.
- You can learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
- You can turn off personalised advertising from Google at adssettings.google.com, or opt out of many third-party vendors at aboutads.info.
If we use Google Analytics, it collects aggregated, pseudonymous statistics about how pages are used (for example, which calculators are most popular). In the EEA, UK and Switzerland it only sets cookies after you consent.
The contact form uses a single session cookie to protect against forged submissions. It is strictly necessary and is deleted when you close your browser.
Legal bases (GDPR)
- Consent — advertising and analytics cookies.
- Legitimate interests — running, securing and improving the site, preventing spam and abuse, and creating the share links you request.
- Taking steps at your request — replying to messages you send us.
Who we share data with
We do not sell your personal data. Data is processed by our hosting provider and, where you consent, by Google for advertising and analytics. Google may process data outside the EEA under the safeguards described in its own privacy policy.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details above. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority; in Greece this is the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (dpa.gr).
Children
This site is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
